Secrets to Getting the Spark Back in your Relationship!

Updated: Feb 2, 2018

You find yourself in a rut. In the same routine, day after day, week after week. You feel the lull setting in to your relationship and realize you haven't really felt connected in months. Here you will learn how to get your relationship back on track.

Step 1: Identify what has changed. Take a look at the relationship and think about what made things satisfying in the beginning of the relationship. Where did they go and why? Have you lost attraction? Gotten busy?

Step 2: Talk with your partner. Share with your partner what you are missing and ask for your needs to be met. I need more quality time; I need more connection; or I need to know I am heard. Ask your partner about their needs as well.

Step 3: Create opportunities to change. After speaking with your partner, create structure that support meeting one another's needs. What kind of things need to happen to make space for you and your partner's needs? A date night? Less screen time? Time scheduled for one another?

Take time to explore these things with your partner and you may be amazed to experience fulfilling results! At the same time, remember to be gentle and forgiving if you find this process to be challenging.

If you are interested in learning more about improving your connection with your partner, consider seeking counseling for support.
